Lectures ended on November 30 and students are now preparing for their final examinations. We wish them well in their studies.
Graduate student Lalani Munasinghe and her husband welcomed a new daughter, Manuli, in November. Congratulations to the proud parents. Lalani is an MSc student in Dr. Bertolo’s lab.
The Campus Food Bank is having a Christmas hamper drive and the department signed up in mid-November to provide one. Listed items will be collected and delivered to the food bank on December 10th.
The Emergency Management Office came to the department to give an awareness presentation on November 16th. Only a small number of people were able to attend that date and a second presentation is now set for January. Hopefully more will be able to attend and learn about this important topic.
Teaching assistant jobs for winter were advertised during November to currently enrolled eligible departmental graduate students. A list of assignments is not expected until sometime in December.
