UArctic Partnership
The University of the Arctic (UArctic) is a network of universities, colleges, research institutes, and other organizations concerned with education and research in and about the North. UArctic builds and strengthens collective resources and infrastructures that enable member institutions to better serve their constituents and their regions. Created through the Arctic Council, UArctic is committed to upholding its principles of sustainable development as well as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Memorial University has been an active member of UArctic since 2004, with engagement within UArctic’s Board of Directors, Thematic Networks, Student Ambassadors, and a current memorandum of understanding for the UArctic senior leadership position of Vice President Finance, Development & Engagement. Memorial has, in the past, also filled the position of Vice President Indigenous.
