LinkedIn Virus Warning

MUN email users should be aware of a recent wave of emails that claim to contain invitation reminders for the LinkedIn career professional social network. Clicking the links contained in these emails will not take you to LinkedIn. They will instead infect Windows computers with a new variant of the Zeus virus before redirecting the user to Google. Zeus, also known as Zbot, is an extremely serious virus infection designed to steal credit card numbers, banking, and other usernames and passwords. Any user who suspects they are infected as a result of clicking on links in a LinkedIn related email should contact the C&C Service Desk immediately by calling 864-4595.
