NOW OPEN: Southwest Coast Thriving Regions Applied Research Fund

The Harris Centre is accepting Expressions of Interest for our exciting new Southwest Coast Thriving Regions Applied Research Fund. Funding will support research that impacts the sustainability of the Southwest Coast that falls within the following themes:

• Embracing the Aging Population
• Understanding Tourism Patterns
• Building Food Security (Fisheries and Agriculture)

We are particularly interested in projects that incorporate these regional priorities with the overarching themes of entrepreneurship or community/regional collaboration.

The fund is open to all Memorial University faculty, staff and students and provides up to $15,000 per project. Researchers from all disciplines are welcome to apply and we strongly encourage multidisciplinary and collaborative projects between faculty, staff, students and community partners.

Three applicants will be chosen to move forward in the process, and we will help them connect with people on the Southwest Coast at a workshop in the first week of December to further develop their research plans. Researchers must be able to participate in this workshop to be eligible for this funding.

The application deadline is 4:00pm on Friday, November 16th.
