Following the challenging EOR process in offshore fields, the produced fluids have to be transported through the wellbore and subsea pipelines to the downstream platforms, where the flow assurance becomes an important issue from economical perspectives. Solid precipitation may occur in EOR processes such as CO2-based, enriched gas and smart water flooding EOR processes. Asphaltene/Wax destabilization (precipitation and deposition) during EOR applications is a common problem. Hydrate formation, wax deposition, asphaltene precipitation, scale deposition as well as high viscosity emulsions are the most important flow assurance issues encountered in subsea transportations.
