Brightspace (D2L) is Memorial's learning management system, used to deliver all online courses and support most on-campus ones. Did you know every on-campus course automatically has a Brightspace course site?

You can use Brightspace to:

• Share course materials and announcements.
• Facilitate discussions and group work.
• Manage and transfer grades directly to Banner.
• Support flexible and inclusive learning beyond the classroom.

Ready to access or set up your course in Brightspace? CITL is here to help.

• Activate your course site: If your Brightspace site hasn't been activated, contact our Support Centre for help.
• Access Brightspace: Go to Memorial Online Learning or select Brightspace from the drop-down Log In menu at the top-right of the page.
• Explore Technology Resources: Visit our Technology Resources site for guides and tutorials on Brightspace and other teaching tools.
• Get one-on-one support: Drop by the Teaching and Learning Exchange (ED-1001, Education building) to connect with our staff for personalized help.

Course and Program Development

CITL supports online courses through every stage, from development to maintenance and redevelopment. Our course design team works with you, the content expert, to create innovative and effective learning experiences.

Online Proctoring

Using webcams and microphones, online proctoring allows professional invigilators to remotely supervise exams. At Memorial, it is the default exam method for students in selected courses who live outside Newfoundland and Labrador.

Online Course Weekly Calendars

Each semester, online courses use a weekly calendar to organize activities and assessments. Because these schedules don't always run Monday to Friday, we create customized calendars to help you stay on track.
