Writing Across the Curriculum

CITL's Writing Across the Curriculum workshop series is designed for instructors who want to explore how writing can support student learning in their courses, across all disciplines and teaching contexts. Grounded in Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) principles, this series introduces approaches such as writing to learn (WTL) and writing in the disciplines (WID), with a focus on practical strategies that can be adapted to a range of classroom settings.

Each session offers learning opportunities including short presentations, sample assignments from across disciplines, guided discussion and hands-on work with your own course materials. Whether you're just beginning to integrate writing into your teaching or looking to refine your approach, this series is for you.

The Writing Across the Curriculum workshop series is open to faculty and instructors across Memorial campuses. Please check this page for updates on the next series of workshops.

  • Learn strategies for designing clear, effective writing assignments.
  • Examine sustainable approaches to giving feedback and responding to student writing.
  • Reflect on how writing works in their field and how to help students meet those expectations.
