Instructor Series: Flexible Assignments and UDL in Practice

Presenter: Dr. Amy Todd, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Science, Department of Biochemistry, St. John's Campus

Flexible Assignments is an assessment approach grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Students are provided with flexibility in how they demonstrate understanding of the learning material while maintaining consistent learning outcomes.

In this session, Dr. Todd will explore how she uses this approach in an effort to remove barriers for students who have diverse learning needs, reduce reliance on formal (or informal) accommodations, decrease student anxiety and increase student engagement through choice and autonomy.

This is an online session and it will be recorded.

We recommend attending this session using one of the following internet browsers: Chrome, Microsoft Edge (Chromium) or Firefox.
