From Our Co-directors
At Memorial's CITL, we believe that better learning for all is at the heart of the university's vision as well as our own. For more than 50 years, CITL has supported students and educators through innovation in course and program design, instructional practice and technology-enabled learning. From its earliest days and throughout its different incarnations, CITL's work to support teaching and learning at Memorial has been groundbreaking and innovative, often representing the first of its kind provincially or nationally.
Today, as teaching and learning continue to evolve, CITL is proud to serve as Memorial’s hub for the collaboration, expertise and innovation that lies behind every great class. Whether it’s helping faculty reimagine a course, designing accessible and engaging learning spaces, supporting graduate students as they develop their teaching practice or providing timely student supports, our work is focused on enhancing the teaching and learning experience at every level and for every member of Memorial's community.
This purpose-driven work, all done in support of student success, is guided by our five Lines of Innovation:
- Student Learning Solutions
- Learning Environments and Technologies
- Curriculum and Course Design
- Professional Development in Teaching
- Better Learning Incubator
Within and across these lines, we partner with faculty, instructors, staff, academic leaders and students to create inclusive, future-ready learning environments across Memorial's campuses and beyond.
We invite you to explore our services and resources, connect with our team and collaborate with us as we continue to strengthen and support teaching and learning at Memorial.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kim Myrick, CITL co-director
Ms. Bonnie Simmons, CITL co-director
