Michael Hodgett
Director, The Arts Firm

Michael works with organizations to explore new directions and better ways to achieve results. He has 30+ years of experience in helping leaders develop and implement strategies, solve problems, and build organizational capabilities.

His focuses at The Arts Firm include the areas of competency and skills in governance, organizational design, business turnaround, and high performance environments. In addition, Michael specializes in helping organizations with strategic planning and execution, using approaches designed for flexibility in a fast-changing world.

An experienced orchestra board member, Michael enjoys singing in choirs wherever he lives, whenever he can.

Michael travaille avec des organisations pour explorer de nouvelles directions et de meilleures façons d'obtenir des résultats. Il a plus de 30 ans d'expérience dans l'aide aux dirigeants pour développer et mettre en œuvre des stratégies, résoudre des problèmes et renforcer les capacités organisationnelles.

Dans le cadre de son travail avec The Arts Firm, il se concentre sur les domaines de compétences et d'aptitudes en matière de gouvernance, de conception organisationnelle, de redressement d'entreprise et d'environnements à haute performance. De plus, Michael se spécialise aussi dans l'aide aux organisations en matière de planification et d'exécution stratégiques, en utilisant des approches conçues pour la flexibilité dans un monde en évolution rapide.

Membre d’expérience d'un conseil d'administration d'orchestre, Michael aime chanter dans des chœurs partout où il habite chaque fois qu'une occasion se présente.

About the Presenters….

Robert Colbourne is a passionate choral music teacher from Newfoundland and Labrador where he is both the choral director at Holy Heart High School and an associate conductor with Shallaway Youth Choir. His choirs have been recognized as winners of the National Music Festival of Canada as well as 3 time winners of Canada's Music Class Challenge. Robert's "the show must go on" attitude has given students new and exciting opportunities during the pandemic and has enabled his choirs to continue to grow and flourish during this unprecedented time.

Carrie Tennant is the founder and Artistic Director of the Vancourver Youth Choir and an Affiliate Conductor with the Vancourver Chamber Choir. Previously, Carrie has held conducting positions with Chor Leoni, EnChor, the Coastal Sound Youth Choir, and the Sarah McLachlan Youth Choir. Carrie's choirs have been featured at Chorus America, Podium (Choral Canada), and National ACDA conferences, and have twice been awarded First Place in the National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs.

Choral Canada Past President, Kellie Walsh is the Artistic Director of Shallaway Youth Choir, Founder and Artistic Director of Lady Cove Women's Choir, as well as Co-Founder and Artistic Director Emeritus of Newman Sound Men's Choir. Most recently, Shallaway's senior ensemble received a first and second place win in the prestigious Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod, where they also won 2015 Children's Choir of the World.

À propos de nos présentateurs...

Robert Colbourne est un enseignant de musique chorale passionné originaire de Terre-Neuve et Labrador. Il est chef de ch?ur à l'école secondaire Holy Heart et chef adjoint de Shallaway Youth Choir. Ses ch?urs ont gagné des prix au Festival national de musique du Canada et ont remporté trois fois le Défi des classes de musique de CBC Canada. L'attitude positive de Robert Colbourne a offert à ses choristes des nouvelles opportunités excitantes lors de cette pandémie et a permis à ses ch?urs de continuer à s'épanouir pendant ses temps sens précédents.

Carrie Tennant est la fondatrice et directrice artistique du Vancouver Youth Choir et chef affiliée du Vancouver Chamber Choir. Elle a aussi travaillé en tant que chef avec Chor Leoni EnChor, Coastal Sound Youth Choir et le Sarah McLachlan Youth Choir. Récemment, l'ensemble sénior de Shallaway a reçu un premier et deuxième prix au prestigieux festival de musique international Llangollen, où ils ont aussi remporté le prix Children's Choir of the World en 2015.

About the Presenters:

Director of Client Services at the Ray Agency, Sherrie Reynolds has worked on campaigns for MasterCard, Whirlpool Appliances, Koodo Mobile, WestJet, AdditionElle, Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, True North Seafood, and many more. She is known for her highly strategic work, her approachability, and her ability to connect with her clients.

Marketer Alana Loveys completed her master’s degree in business and branding at VCU Brandcenter, while working with The Richards Group and Old Navy. Alana specializes in brand strategy, digital marketing, and has worked with clients such as Old Navy, Charles Schwab, Virginia Tourism, Coors Light, Maine Health, and True North Seafood.
