Maryam ZomorrodiBEng, MBA, PhD
Areas of Expertise
Maryam earned her PhD in Sustainable Sourcing from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. She has a multi-disciplinary research interest in sustainability and supply chain management with emphasis on subsistence markets/base-of-the-pyramid (BoP) business, poverty alleviation, and social
entrepreneurship. Maryam has taught courses such as Operations Management and Sustainability at various Australian universities including University of Melbourne and La Trobe University.
Prior to entering academia, Maryam has worked in various NGOs in the area of humanitarian aid operations which allowed her to better understand complex social problems and their mitigation through closer engagement with business and society. Maryam has expertise in qualitative research methods and her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management. She is a member of Academy of Management (AoM), Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), and European Operations Management Association (EurOMA).
