5.11 Joint Honours in Computer Science and Physics

The following courses are prescribed:

  1. Chemistry 1050 and 1051 (or Chemistry 1010, 1011, and 1031).

    1. Computer Science 1710, 2710, 2711, 2742, 2760, 3715, 3716, 3719, 3724, 3725, 3731, 3754 and 4770.

    2. Nine additional credit hours in Computer Science courses numbered 3000 or higher, including at least 6 credit hours in courses numbered 4000 or higher.

    1. Physics 1050 and 1051, or Physics 1020, 1021 and 1051.

    2. Physics 2053, 2055, 2750 or 2056, 2820, 3220, 3400, 3500, 3750, 3820, 3821, 4500, and 3230 or 3900.

  2. Physics 490A/B or Computer Science 4780.

  3. Physics 3810 or Applied Mathematics/Pure Mathematics 3202.

    1. Mathematics 1000 and 1001.

    2. Mathematics 2000, 2050, Pure Mathematics 2320 and Applied Mathematics/Pure Mathematics 3260

Statistics 2510 is recommended.

The topic for the Honours project or thesis, Computer Science 4780 or Physics 490A/B, must be chosen with the prior approval of both Departments.
