To be awarded the degree of Bachelor of Music in History and Literature, a candidate shall comply with the School’s regulations, and successfully complete a minimum of 123 credit hours, including 53 credit hours in the Core Program. The remaining 70 credit hours will be chosen as follows:

Three credit hours chosen from music theory courses beyond the 2000 level.

Nine additional credit hours beyond the 2000 level in music history.

Six credit hours chosen from History and/or Anthropology (Faculty of Arts).

Fourteen additional credit hours chosen from music courses beyond the 1000 level and meeting the following requirements:

Credit will not be given for more than 14 credit hours of conducted ensemble toward the Bachelor of Music degree.

Credit will not be given for more than 8 credit hours of coached ensemble toward the Bachelor of Music degree.

Twenty-four credit hours chosen from disciplines other than music and music education, including at least 6 credit hours from courses in English and/or designated research/writing courses and at least 12 credit hours in a language or languages other than English.
