Dawn LeBlanc graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2000 with her bachelor of nursing. She’s worked in remote Northern Aboriginal communities in Manitoba, and as a critical care nurse in an emergency room and ICU. She completed her masters of nursing and nurse practitioner (Emergency Specialty) education at Dalhousie in 2005. After graduating, Dawn worked in emergency departments and in remote Health Centres in Nunavut, taught third year nursing, and worked as a primary care nurse practitioner. Since 2009, Dawn has been at CFB Gagetown. As a result of her indepth knowledge of acute and primary healthcare, and her experience working in remote locations, Dawn was the first civilian to be sent on tour to CFS Alert.
