William Lowell Putnam Competition

On Saturday December 1st , university students across North America will take part in the 73rd Annual William Lowell Putnam Competition.  Described by Time Magazine as the world's toughest math test, students compete both in teams and individually to tackle tricky math problems that require clever and creative solutions.   High scorers win cash prizes and invitations to top graduate schools (not to mention bragging rights).

Interested participants are encouraged to contact Dr. Tom Baird at tbaird@mun.ca, or to show up at one of the two remaining practice sessions taking place  Nov. 19 and Nov. 26 from 5-8pm in room HH3026.
