Please also note that all food banks are closed but will reopen Jan. 4 or 5, 2021, with the exception of the Salvation Army Ches Penney Centre of Hope. See below for more details.
George Street United Church
Christmas Dinner on Dec. 25, 2020 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Take out only. Participants will also receive a little gift bag.
Montana’s and Sweet Newfie Kitchen
The Sweet Newfie Kitchen and Montana’s are teaming up to provide free turkey dinners for people on Christmas Day from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. Free of charge, with pick up or delivery option. Salvation Army Ches Penney Centre of Hope
Open for meals at 12 p.m. on Dec. 29, 30 & 31, 2020. Food bank open on morning of Dec. 29, 30 and all day on Dec. 31. Open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday same hours, every week thereafter. Recommended that if an emergency situation arises from Dec 24-28, call 211.
United Way Newfoundland and Labrador
Please see the link below which provides a wealth of community supports, which includes food security, financial, etc.. Any type of circumstance that a person finds themselves in, can call 211 and they will speak to a live operator who will connect them with immediate emergency supports. https://www.unitedwaynl.ca/211-2/

Access to basic information about food programs in their community, including referrals to food banks and meal programs.
The Gathering Place
For individuals 26 years of age or older. Throughout Christmas week, all food programs will be as normal, serving three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and supper).

Dec. 21, 22, 23 – 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (meal served 1 - 3 p.m. in three sittings: 1 - 1:30, 1:40 - 2:10, 2:20 - 2:50. Takeaway meals are also available during that time)
Dec. 24 – 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. (no meal served today)
Dec. 25 – Closed (No meal served today)
Dec. 28 – Closed (No meal served today)
Dec. 29, 30 – 8:30-4:30 (meal served 1 - 3 p.m. in three sittings: 1 - 1:30, 1:40 - 2:10, 2:20 - 2:50. Takeaway meals are also available during that time)
