Student Work and Service Program (SWASP)
SWASP applications are now being accepted for Spring 2020. Deadline to apply is Friday, May 22 at 5:00 p.m. (Pending government funding)
Following all current University directives related to the COVID pandemic, SWASP positions must be able to be completed remotely.
Please note that applications must include initials and signature before submitting.
Student Work and Service Program (SWASP) is funded by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and was designed to reduce the debt load of students. It offers a valuable work opportunity applicable to your program of study and career objectives as well as a tuition credit.
Students are responsible for finding a career-related work placement with an appropriate employer. The employer is defined as a partner who agrees to engage a student in career related work and must be a full-time faculty or a full-time staff member of Memorial University.
Who is eligible?
Funding is available to student parents enrolled at Memorial University. (If additional funding becomes available, the program may available to non-parent students).
- Available to all student parents.
- $1,200 voucher or $750 voucher and $450 stipend.
- Available to part-time student parents or those not currently registered.
- $1,400 voucher and $1,200 stipend.
