CGRS M Master's Fellowships 2025 Competition
Memorial Internal Process and Timeline for 2025-2026
December 1, 2025 (before 8:00 pm ET): The deadline for CGRS M applications is December 1 before 8:00 pm (ET). Complete applications must be submitted by the deadline using the Research Portal. If the deadline falls on a weekend or on a federal holiday, applications must be submitted by the following business day before 8:00 pm (ET).
- Applications are prepared and submitted by the student directly to the agency through the Research Portal. Please refer to the Tri-agency website for application forms and instructions.
- Note: Students applying for CGRS Ms should submit their application for admission to Graduate Studies to support their CGRS-M application.
Winter 2026: The Memorial CGRS M committees complete the internal review of applications, and submit recommendations to Tri Councils by March 31, 2026.
April 1, 2026: Offers of awards will be available in the Research Portal as of April 1. Alternate offers may be made up until January 31 of the next calendar year.
- It is your responsibility to regularly check the Research Portal between April 1 and January 31 for the results of the competition.

September 18, 2025: Deadline for submission of complete CGRS-D application packages.
Deadline for submission of complete CGRS-D application packages. Applications are prepared by the student, and submitted to the nominating institution by their internal deadline. Please refer to their website for agency-specific application forms and instructions. Application instructions and other links will be available in July on the website for the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship – Doctoral program.

November 21, 2025: SGS submits selected applications to the appropriate Tri-Council.
