Open Access Publishing: Global Reach for your Research

Tuesday February 11th, 2014, 12:00pm - 1:00pm, Grenfell Campus, Fine Arts Building, Room FA224

In October 2013 federal funding agencies SSHRC and NSERC announced their intention to implement an Open Access publishing mandate for all funded research.

Memorial University Libraries are in an excellent position to help researchers to comply with the proposed mandate. We have established the Memorial University Research Repository to share Memorial research as widely as possible, and to help faculty members and graduate students meet funding agency requirements. The library also offers an Open Access Author’s Fund to assist Memorial faculty and students who wish to make their work as open as possible. The library can help you to assess the quality of OA journals, or to start your own Open Access publication.

Come to this session to hear Lisa Goddard, Scholarly Communications Librarian, discuss the benefits of Open Access, and to learn how the library can help you to develop global reach for your research.
