Career Preparation Programs
Memorial University offers a number of career-related programs that can help you improve your knowledge of the Canadian job market and prepare you for a successful career. The programs and events listed below are offered by the Internationalization Office in partnership with other units to help you enhance your skills, practice networking, and prepare for your job search and career exploration.
Professional Skills Development Program (PSDP) - registration for Fall'21 is now closed!
The PSDP helps international students prepare for professional employment in Canada & covers the following topics:
- Resume and Cover Letter
- Interview Skills
- Skill Identification and Career Exploration
- Job searching and Networking
- Canadian Work Place Culture
It also provides selected participants an employment opportunity with a local company to gain practical work experience, while applying the knowledge and tools they have learned through the completion of the PSDP modules.
The next PSDP will be in Feb, 2022.
Entrepreneurship Training Program (ETP)
This program is for full-time graduate students who are interested in starting a business and learning the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Over a 16-week period, a series of interactive presentations and workshops are delivered by award-winning entrepreneurs and faculty that give you the core skills you need to enter the exciting world of entrepreneurship.
