Arrivals 2021-2022

Thank you for choosing Memorial University of Newfoundland. Over the next several pages we will help guide you through some of the steps required to travel to Canada and enter the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

A great deal of information has changed throughout the course of the pandemic, so please refer back to this site often to confirm if things have changed or not. Students should also refer to the MUN COVID-19 page for students.

The Government of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador have recently introduced new measures to address the new COVID-19 variant of concern. For more information and to see how this will affect your international travel plans, please click here.

Fully vaccinated travellers - Effective 12:01 a.m. on January 22, 2022, fully vaccinated travellers are required to complete a COVID-19 rapid test once a day for five days, starting on the day of arrival in Newfoundland and Labrador (Day 0). Isolation ends when the first two tests, taken at least 24 hours apart, are negative. Travellers must take the remaining 3 tests for the three days after leaving isolation.

If you have travelled from outside of Canada you must remain in isolation until you receive a negative federal arrivals test (if you were given one). This could take 3-7 days in some cases. All international travelers are required to have a 14 day quarantine plan to present at the border when you arrive in Canada.

If you have any questions, please contact selfisolation@mun.ca or selfisolation@grenfell.mun.ca.
