Environmental Health and Safety

A major function of the Department of Health & Safety is providing ongoing environmental and safety consultation to inquiries from the campus community.

Through the availability of local and outside resources, information on numerous environmental and safety topics are available on request or through scheduled sessions which are advertised annually to the University community.

Typical services include:

  • the provision of hazardous chemical information and product labels
  • assisting with chemical product inventory and building fire safety and evacuation programs
  • radiation safety and biosafety control
  • working with safety committees
  • environmental safety
  • recycling

Safety and environmental audits are conducted to ensure compliance with University regulations and various standards and codes.
