James Greey, B.Eng.'15
I am excited about the opportunity to serve on the Board of Regents as a MUN Alumni Representative. I believe that I would be an ideal addition to the board because of my in-depth knowledge of the student experience at Memorial University, varied work and international experience, and commitment to the province. I was born and raised in St. John’s and I am currently completing my Master in Business Administration (MBA) at Memorial University and expect to graduate in May, 2017. During the fall, 2016 semester I participated in an exchange semester at the BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, Norway. Prior to this, I completed a Bachelor of Engineering in the civil discipline at Memorial in 2015. I am therefore well-acquainted with both the engineering and business departments at Memorial University, but I am also in a position to bring insight from other international academic institutions to the decision making processes.I have excelled in my studies and represented students in various capacities during my time at Memorial. I served on the executive committees for the Memorial Debating Society, the Canadian Society for Civil Engineers MUN Student Chapter, and the MBA Student Association. I am committed to using my energy and talents to serve my community. My work experiences in the aerospace and oil and gas industries have prepared me to deliver results efficiently to multiple stakeholders. I know that I will be able to contribute to the board and help the university plan for short-term and long-term success.
