Stephen Clark, BA'94
I respectfully submit my application to serve on the Board of Regents for Memorial. I believe Memorial needs to maintain a low cost, high value education mandate while recruiting and retaining students both nationally and internationally. As the CEO of the NL Centre for Health Information, a NL provincial crown agency, I have strong experience in operational management and oversight including establishing key stakeholder relationships, setting goals, culture and values, leading staff and setting priorities. Having served as the organization’s Corporate Secretary for the past 10+ years I am keenly familiar with Board best practices and accountabilities including statutory fiduciary duty, fiscal and audit management, conflict of interest, strategic planning and risk management. As a citizen of Newfoundland & Labrador I understand the challenges and opportunities presented to our province. My work experience is complemented with private sector experience including Bell, Rogers, Eastlink, Instrumar and others. My academic background includes a BA'94 in Economics from Memorial, Chartered Professional Accountant (CMA) 2001, Masters in Business Administration 2006 from Heriot-Watt University, and a Project Management Professional certification in 2011.
