Graduate Studies in Science
“Penetrating so many secrets, we cease to believe in the unknowable. But there it sits nevertheless, calmly licking its chops.”
~ H. L. Mencken, Minority Report, 1956
Our graduate students love it here. Why wouldn’t they? The air is clean, the people are friendly and the natural beauty of Newfoundland and Labrador will take your breath away. We are one of the most affordable places to live in North America, and we have some of the lowest tuition rates in Canada.
Our research expertise runs the gamut from abstract algebra to zooplankton. From A to Z or Z to A – whatever way you look at it - we have a lot to offer.
The Faculty of Science encourages research crossing the borders of traditional disciplines, and offers a range of innovative Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs.
The Rothermere Fellowship assists students who have completed a bachelor’s degree at Memorial, have completed or are about to complete a master's degree at either Memorial or another university in North America, and who want to continue their studies at a university of their choice in the United Kingdom. Currently the fellowship is valued at roughly £15,000, plus university fees and certain other expenses such as return air travel. One award is made each year by the Rothermere Fellowships Trust on the recommendation of the president of Memorial. Further information may be obtained by e-mailing the Office of the President at email@example.com or calling (709) 864-8212. The deadline is Nov. 30.
