ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC EDITION
This first electronic edition of The Bible Doctrine of Sanctification has been transcribed from the first edition of the book, which also contains The Philosophic Basis of Ordinances. (Thanks to Pastor Charles T. Carl for lending me his copy of this book for this purpose.) The second edition, published in 1949 as a separate pamphlet, has been consulted for comparison; typographical errors corrected in the second edition have been included in the electronic edition. The second edition remains in print, and is available from Churches of God Publications, 700 East Melrose Avenue, PO Box 926, Findlay, OH 45839.
The following changes have been made to the text of first printed edition: (1) Bible references have been formatted using OnLine Bible abbreviation, with lower-case roman numerals for chapters rendered as arabic numbers. Where a reference in the printed edition consisted of book and chapter only, the range of verses for the chapter has been supplied. (2) References have been inserted within square brackets when not provided for Scripture quotations. (3) Titles of books have been set in italics. (4) The abbreviations "i.e." and "viz" have been given in their English forms, as "that is" and as "namely," respectively. (5) Foreign words and phrases (from the Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and German) have been set in bold italic type. (6) The outline is not part of the original publication; it has been prepared by the editor of the electronic version. (7) Page numbers from the printed edition have been inserted within square brackets following the last complete word on the page. At the end of each chapter, the range of pages has been indicated. (8) For consistency, certain compound words given in the printed texts both in hyphenated and unhyphenated forms have been rendered as the latter (for example, "feet-washing" as "feetwashing," "shew-bread" as "shewbread", "can not" as "cannot").
Addenda and corrigenda are earnestly solicited.
