• The Gospel Advocate Obituary Index (GAOI) is an online, searchable index of obituaries that appeared in the Gospel Advocate from 1855-1994. GAOI does not provide access to the text of the obituaries, but only serves to inform researchers of where the obituary appeared in the Gospel Advocate. To read the actual obituary requires that you have access to the original volume or issue of the Gospel Advocate where the obituary appears.
• The GAOI was compiled by members of the Lehman Avenue church of Christ in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Using the Gospel Advocate Obituary Index

1. Login process:
   When you connect to dlu.edu, you are asked to supply a username. Enter "linis" (without the quote marks). No password is needed.
2. The main menu looks like:
