Masters of Employment Relations (MER)

A joint degree from the faculties of humanities and social sciences and business

From career counselling to contract negotiations, Memorial’s MER program will help you to effectively manage relationships at your organization. Our multi-disciplinary program provides advanced-level study of all aspects of the employment relationship as well as offers insight into the history and sociology of work cultures.

Learn about labour market trends, the latest research in industrial relations and best practices in human resources management. With required courses in business, sociology, history and economics, our MER program considers the employment relationship from a variety of viewpoints – including yours!

The program’s research component also gives you the opportunity to design and execute an independent research project tailored that’s to your interests.

For further details on the program, visit the Masters of Employment program or email program director Dr. Alan Hall.

10th Anniversary Dinner

The Master of Employment Relations
(MER) program is having its 10th Anniversary Dinner on May 1, 2014, at The Rooms in St. John’s and you're invited. There will be laughs and celebratory speeches (short ones we hope!), and lots of opportunity to mingle and chat with former MER classmates and professors. It will be a fun time and we’re hoping that you can make it. Of course, your guest is also welcome. Details.
