

G2511 - Intermediate Composition and Conversation II. Deutsch für Reisende
Students will learn practical vocabulary and phrases for travelling in Germany. Topics will include Flughafen, Bahnhof, Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel, Restaurant, Einkaufen, Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten and Sehenswürdigkeiten. They will read train schedules and plan itineraries and overnight accommodations by visiting the Deutsche Bundesbahn, Städte and Hotelführer websites.
G3510 - Advanced Composition and Conversation I. Landeskunde
Students will visit appropriate web sites to learn about the geography, history and culture of the places they will visit in Germany.
G3511 - Advanced Composition and Conversation II. Sprachkurs Deutsch
Students will learn practical vocabulary and phrases for talking about themselves and their homeland. This course also includes a grammar review.Format:
The first fourteen weeks of these courses will be web-based. Assignments and instructions will be posted on the web site. Students will communicate with the instructor by e-mail and will forward their assignments by e-mail. Students do not need to be in St. John's to participate. This format allows students to live at home and even work full-time prior to the trip. The month of August will be spent in Heidelberg, Germany, where students will participate in an intensive month-long language course from August 3 - August 30, 2007.
