A number of Geography Students were recognized for their academic achievements at the Arts Faculty Awards ceremony held on the 24th of October 2012.  Victoria Bailey, Daniel Downey, Sarah Messer, Christina Pretty, and Janelle Skeard all received certificates for being on the Faculty of Arts’ Dean’s list.

To make the Dean's List, students must complete a minimum of 9 courses over two semesters (or 10 over three semesters) and achieve high marks for these courses. Only the top 10 percent of students in the Faculty can receive the Dean’s list award.

Christina Pretty received the Geography Department’s book prize for outstanding achievement in the discipline, and Janelle Skeard was awarded the Stavely Award. The Stavely Award is for students who are on the Dean’s list for all four years of their undergraduate programme.  Congratulations to all the students (as well as their friends and parents)!!
