(June 23-26th) was a great success! Thank you to everyone who
attended and helped to organize! The LHRG was a partner in a
special community forum on research in Nunatsiavut. Named
Tukisinnik, meaning “to understand” in
Inuktitut, the forum was an opportunity for open dialogue on the
value and management of research activities and opportunities in

presentation' in his section at the recent IPY Science Conference

Andrew Trant will be representing the LHRG in Oslo this June for the IPY Science Conference. He is currently taking recommendations for places to sample local foods and spirits.

Andrew Trant and Ryan Jameson have stumbled upon something big. They have unearthed one of the oldest black spruce in Canada in the Mealy Mountains. This tree that is less than 3 m tall and about 9 cm in diameter is nearly 370 years old. Oh and get this – it is still producing cones!
