Admissions
Criteria for admission
The criteria for admission to the graduate program are:
(i) academic credentials
(ii) whether a supervisor is available to address student's research interests and
(ii) whether funding is available.
Students without a Geography degree, but with good qualifications, will be required to complete up to four undergraduate courses, depending on their academic background. "Good qualifications" normally means a first class or good second class degree (GPA >2.75/4).
Students interested in applying to the graduate program in Geography should contact the faculty member(s) that they think they might like to work with. This should be done well in advance of their application.
Application Procedure
The official deadline for receipt of applications for both Master’s (MA and MSc) and Doctoral programs is January 15 for September admissions; however we will consider applicants on an ongoing basis, for admission in September of that year.
Application form can be obtained from the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). A processing fee is applicable to all applicants. Students are requested to submit applications and arrange for academic transcript, referees’ letters of appraisal, and TOEFL (if required) to be forwarded directly to the SGS.
