In the 21st century, the ability to communicate at the international level is an essential skill that is greatly valued in a lot of professions. By choosing to study languages you will broaden your horizons, enrich your life and improve your future employment opportunities. Our international faculty will help you learn French, Spanish and Italian and foster a global understanding and greater intercultural and interpersonal skills through an exposure to cultures and literatures taught in the department.
The Department of French and Spanish and the Department of German and Russian are preparing to combine into a single administrative unit to be known as the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures. No changes to programing are planned - French, German, Russian and Spanish programs and courses all continue as before. The proposal to combine is pending final approval by Senate and the Board of Regents, anticipated in July 2016. Any students with questions about this administrative change should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
