Term 7 Aeroplane Project

Each year, term 7 mechanical students flex their design muscles to design and fabricate the best performing RC aircraft for a prescribed mission. The mission criteria have subtle differences each year. Competing teams in 2018 are required to design their model airplane for maximum payload percentage. Each team conducts their project using a common kit of parts and each team can allocate up to $250 to cover possible cost for parts or material relevant to the project beyond the provided material and services by the department. The team that completes a successful flight run with the highest payload ratio, takes home the bragging rights!
