This is my story...Jessica, BA '16
Thanks to you, I see amazing possibilities before me.
Your decision to support Memorial will change lives. It has definitely changed mine. I know that by studying and working hard, my success is also your success.
I came to Memorial from a small town in the Ottawa Valley. My sister is a student here too and she convinced me to apply. At 17, I was nervous about starting university, but Memorial felt like a family school, a real community, and it quickly became my home away from home.
It has been an exciting year for me. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in May and I am now pursuing my Master’s in Geography. I am passionate about understanding human behavior and how we can work together to positively change our shared environment. You’ve helped me find that passion.
There are so many ways that alumni like you make a real difference at Memorial. Whether it’s support for special projects, research, scholarships, classroom upgrades or programs in your former faculty or school, you create amazing possibilities for students like me.
I was incredibly fortunate to receive scholarships and for me, it changed everything. I was able to find balance and did not have to compromise on my studies to pay the bills. Receiving a scholarship meant so much more than financial help; I was given encouragement as well.
Your support reassures students, and gives us confidence that we’re on the right track.
I am so glad to be a student at Memorial. I love what I do and the opportunities I have.
Please consider making a gift today. Your support will help other students get the most from their university experience.
Thank you so much,
