Mentorship and Supervision
Supervisory Support: The Anesthesia program at Memorial University provides strong mentorship through the RD and numerous faculty supervisors across various disciplines. These supervisors eagerly guide residents in scholarly activities, ensuring a comprehensive support network.
Collaborative Development: Residents will work with the RD, faculty supervisors, and the dedicated anesthesia-associated librarian to develop their project proposal and literature review. Residents are encouraged to collaborate with faculty members from various clinical disciplines within the Faculty of Medicine. These interdisciplinary partnerships provide valuable insights, enhance research quality, and open opportunities for co-authorship on publications, fostering a well-rounded research experience.
Execution and Dissemination: The project involves collaboration with the RD, faculty supervisors, co-investigators, and medical students. After completion, results are analyzed and disseminated to relevant patient populations and Eastern Health or Memorial University departments.
Additional Support Resources: A Clinical Discipline Research Assistant III is available to support residents and faculty with research design, statistical analysis, and study protocol development. The RA3 ensures that research projects are methodologically sound and that data is analyzed accurately, enhancing the overall quality of clinical studies. Library Services offer ongoing support for accessing up-to-date research, managing citations, and ensuring scholarly rigor.
