Beatrice Frank successfully defends her PhD dissertation >

On March 22, 2012, one of our geography PhD students, Beatrice Frank, supervised by Dr. Alistair Bath, successfully defended her PhD dissertation: "The conflict-coexistence continuum: a human dimension case study on wild boar management in Italy". The external examiner, Dr. Juan Herrero, an internationally recognized expert in wild boar management and large herbivores from the University of Zaragoza, Spain stated that in his experience examining several PhD students in Europe that Ms. Frank's performance in the defense and written work was superior to any he had examined. Dr. Larry Felt and Dr. Evan Edinger were the other examiners. Beatrice Frank will work on some minor revisions to address the examiner's comments and prepare for her next big challenge, the anticipated birth of her first child in late April. Congratulations Bea for completing your dissertation in a timely manner. Best wishes for the challenges that lie ahead.
