Memorial University doesn’t have a single story. We have 100 years’ worth of stories. And those stories are about people. The people who have made our institution the powerhouse it is today.

And just like our university, our centennial celebrations will run on people power. In other words, if we’re going to tell the stories that define who we are and where we’re going, we need you to get involved. So let’s launch something together.

Students

Our students are our superpower. And there will be numerous opportunities for individual students and student groups to get involved with our 100th anniversary celebrations. But if you or your student organization are eager to get started, don’t hesitate. Reach out and contact Andrea with your ideas and questions.

Faculty and Staff

Memorial has established an Anniversary Fund to support units across the university in celebrating our centennial. The fund is meant to help faculty and staff members bring their celebration ideas to life. If you have an idea that fits with our theme – “Looking Back, Launching Forth” – then visit our funding and support page for more information.

Memorial Retirees

The history of our university has been shaped by our faculty and staff past and present. Memorial retirees are engaged in the planning of our centennial events. And there will be more opportunities for our retired faculty and staff, and their families, to join in. Memorial University of Newfoundland Pensioners Association (MUNPA) members may partner with a faculty or unit to apply to the Anniversary Fund.

Alumni

Our impact on the wider world is largely the work of our entrepreneurial and visionary alumni. That alumni network is now over 100,000 strong and extends around the globe. If you’re a Memorial alumni, you can join our celebration efforts no matter where you are. Volunteers

Behind every event, there will be an army of volunteers working to make things happen. They are the engine that will launch our celebrations.
