Special Fees - Cohorts outside St. John's
In accordance with the Board's delegation to the senior executive of authority to levy special fees in recognition of offering courses and programs that have special costs attached, the President and the Vice-President (Academic) have agreed that the Vice-President (Academic) will receive requests for such fees, arrive at a judgment, and seek the President's confirmation. This will satisfy the Board's basic requirement.
Such requests should indicate clearly and specifically the rationale for the special fee, explicitly identifying the extra costs involved.
The Vice-President (Academic) will notify the unit making the proposal and, in due course, provide the Board with information about actions taken and a determination of the financial validity of the special fee.
