Channing Fellowships
Established to honour the memory of James G. Channing, Clerk of the Executive Council of Newfoundland, from 1955 to 1978.
The Fellowship permits Senior Executives of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrdor to work at Memorial and teach in their professional discipline.
In 1988, discussions took place with the Public Service Commission concerning the possibility of an exchange in the opposite direction by alternating its tenure at MUN and the Public Service annually. Faculty members are encouraged to take up the Fellowship to spend a year in Government.
