WHAT ARE THE DEGREE OPTIONS?

BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (CO-OP): A five year co-operative degree program composed of nine full-time academic terms and three full-time co-operative terms. Students may choose to focus on a particular area of business (see list below) or complete a general business degree.

BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (CO-OP) CONCENTRATIONS:

  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Human resources, labour relations and organizational behaviour
  • Information systems
  • International business
  • Marketing
  • Operational research
  • Small business/entrepreneurship
  • Supply chain management


BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION: This degree program can be completed within four years. The program is flexible and can be tailored to any busy lifestayle, with courses available on campus and through distance education. Students can also choose a minor from the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science or the School of Music.

INTERNATIONAL BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION:
Students in this four year program are required to choose a global region to focus their studies and must complete one academic semester at a partner university in that particular region.

JOINT DEGREES OF BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (CO-OPERATIVE) AND BACHELOR OF ARTS: Offered in partnership with the Faculty of Arts; students concurrently complete the bachelor of commerce (co-operative) requirements and focus non-business electives on an area of specialization in accordance with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

HOW DO I BECOME A BUSINESS STUDENT?

Students may apply for admission into the Faculty of Business Administration directly from high school by indicating their desired degree in the appropriate place on the university application. Direct entry into the faculty from high school is subject to the applicant meeting the general admission requirements for Memorial University.

SPECIAL SERVICES/PROGRAMS

Get academic advice at the Undergraduate Program Office. The office has information and guidance for both current and prospective students.

The Faculty of Business has partnerships with almost 40 universities all over the world. Business students have studied all over the world, from China to the Czech Republic and everywhere in between. Visit the International Programs Office to find out what opportunities are available.

Co-op students can brush up on their interview and resumé writing skills with help from the professional development seminars offered by the Division of Co-operative Education.
