Arts & Culture

Live music, live theatre, live readings...St. John's is filled with cultural diversity and many unique experiences that make life in this city like no other.

The Arts and Culture Centre

St. Johns' premier theatre experience, featuring dozens of theatrical and musical presentations throughout the year. Also home to the AC Hunter Library, and the Basement theatre as well. And all of this, just a few moments from the main campus.

The LSPU (Longshoremen's Protective Union) Hall

Run by Newfoundland's Resource Centre for the Arts (RCA), 'The Hall', as it's known around town is home to numerous theatrical and film events over the year, and even a small art gallery as well.

The Rooms

Home to the province's museum, art gallery and archives, there's no shortage of events to keep you amused. You'll also find the best indoor view of the Narrows here. Perfect for a foggy day retreat.

School of Music

Located next to the Arts building on campus, "Music at Memorial" offers a wide selection of recitals and concerts. Student rates and season passes are available. Come out and support your fellow students.

The Rabbittown Theatre

Catch a show in the centre of the city's historic Rabbittown neighbourhood. Great locally written drama, as well as classic theatrical productions make this theatre worth checking out.

Writers' Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador

Take a night off and enjoy a reading by one of the province's many authors or a visiting writer from Canada or beyond. Scheduled monthly readings and special events are happening year round.
