Proof of English proficiency is required for admission to Memorial University. These requirements are outlined in the University Calendar here:
Applicants who do not meet the minimum English proficiency requirements can apply to join Memorial University's English as a Second Language (ESL) program which is called the Intensive English Program (IEP).
Memorial's IEP classes are small (no more than 18 students per class), allowing for a great deal of interaction with the instructor and other students. All classes are taught by highly-qualified instructors. All IEP students can use all the university facilities, including the library, student centre, computer facilities and recreation complex.
