Don't throw out your used printer cartridges...RECYCLE THEM!
Scholarships are a great way to help students finance their education. In 2009/10 Memorial University awarded approximately 1,700 scholarships totaling $2.7 million to undergraduate students both new and returning. Even with this amount, there are still hundreds of highly qualified students at MUN who do not receive scholarships because our funds are limited. Your help with this scholarship fundraising initiative is greatly appreciated and a valuable way to turn recycling into a benefit for our students. Click on this link to see if your type is accepted.
For each recycled cartridge, the Memorial Scholarship Program will receive a rebate from...

When Think Recycle began in 2002, their focus was to collect inkjet and toner cartridges. At this time, most people simply threw these products into the garbage, not knowing they could be recycled.
Today, print cartridge consumption is higher than ever, with printers in schools, homes and businesses – leaving millions of cartridges to enter landfills each year. Only 30% of inkjet cartridges and 50% of toner cartridges are currently being recycled.
Our members help to prevent improper disposal of printer cartridges by diverting them from entering local and international landfills. All products shipped to Think Recycle are safely and responsibly refurbished, recycled or reused. Our ISO 14001 certifications and R2 compliance ensures that no products sent to our facility will end up in a landfill!
Think Recycle wanted to do something to help offset the negative environmental impacts of cartridges consumption, improper disposal and paper consumption – which is why we began planting trees on behalf of our members. Through our partnerships with American Forests and Tree Canada, we donate funds to have 1 tree planted for every 24 qualifying items our members collect. To date, our members have contributed to the planting of over 50,000 trees!
