The purpose of the VDay campaign is to raise awareness to stop
violence against women and girls. The production of the Vagina
Monologues, a VDay event, raises funds to donate to organizations
that are also fighting to end violence against women. Highlights of
the Vagina Monologues include the new spotlight monologues
performed to raise awareness of an international cause. This year
the spotlight was the women and girls of the Democratic Republic of
the Congo. The production of the Vagina Monologues is a bonding
experience for the Women Resource Centre volunteers, as well as the
cast and crew. It unites women and men who have been touched by
violence and creates a support network like no other.
