TestimonialsConference: Rights and Development High School Outreach Conference (RADHOC)
Date: February 27-28, 2009
RADHOC is a coalition of human rights and international development groups on campus with the goal of educating, inspiring and motivating high school students towards making a positive impact in the global community. Some highlights include: discussions of the Millennium Development goals formed by the UN; an introduction to the Global Issues Campaign; Social Justice Trivia; Learning songs in Swahili; a presentation by the representation from War Child Canada; RADHOC Collaborative Action, which planned an event based around issues learned at the conference to bring back to their schools, and many workshops around educating youth about global issues. The event was very beneficial because it gained networks between students interested in the same global problems.
