Welcome Parents!

Just as students have Orientation to get introduced to campus life, parents have their own Orientation to become introduced to the Memorial community and learn about where their student will be continuing their education. Parent Orientation will take place on Monday, September 3rd and will kick off in the Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation (see campus map).

Registration and Fair

Drop your student off at the Early Bird Mini Sessions in The Landing and then join us at Parent orientation! Register, grab a coffee or tea, and then mingle with other parents at the Fair. This is a great opportunity to learn about resources available to your students at Memorial. Student volunteers will also be available in the lobby to chat with you about Memorial and answer any questions you may have.

Meet the President of Memorial University and the Deputy Provost of Undergraduate Studies. Learn why Memorial was the right choice for your son or daughter.

Parent Information Question and Answer Session

You will hear from university representatives who will cover areas concerning your student's social, academic, health and financial support, academic services and more in a Question and Answer style.

Career Guidance Session

Learn about the different degree and career options available at Memorial during this session from Career Development and Experiential Learning. Come with an open mind and learn about what a student at Memorial can really become.

Campus Tour

2:30pm-3:30pm
Tour Starts at the Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation

Take a campus tour and get to know your way around Memorial. Stops will include the Cashier's office (where students can pay tuition), Office of the Registrar (oversees course registration), the Bookstore and the University Centre (social hub of the St. John's campus).
Please Note that parents Orientation falls on a Holiday, thus the majority of offices will be closed).

Ask a Student Reception

2:30pm-4:30pm
The Landing (UC-3018)

The final stop on the Campus Tour is the Ask a Student Reception. Get an opportunity to ask any additional questions that you may have on a casual one-on-one basis. Meet University Officials, mingle with panel members and chat with Memorial Ambassadors from a variety of academic backgrounds to get any questions or concerns adressed. Refreshments will be provided.
