Aside from the excellent scientific program, an exciting social program also prepared that provided delegates an opportunity to explore, indulge and relax during their stay in St. John’s. The Welcome Reception, Gala Dinner, Closing Ceremony, and St. John’s sightseeing tour gave participants a chance to network among colleagues while enjoying the cuisine, culture, and warm hospitality that the city of St. John’s has to offer.

Notification of accepted abstracts

Several abstracts from different universities were submitted for presentation at SPE Paper Contest 2014. Following a through selection process carried out by the contest advisory board, the accepted abstracts are selected. Although all abstracts were of high quality, those abstracts which were not related to the defined contest technical categories are removed from the contest program. The accepted abstracts are now posted in the contest webpage. If you have any question or concern, please contact the contest organizers at sspe@mun.ca.


Call for Abstracts

The SPE Memorial University Student Chapter is proud to announce that they will be hosting the 2014 Canadian Region Student Paper Contest for undergraduate, master’s and PhD students. This work can include anything from coursework, internship projects, theses, dissertations and more - as long as you are the major contributor to the work.

Selected students will have the opportunity to present their work in the form of a PowerPoint presentation to an audience of industry professionals and peers. The contest will feature a panel of industry selected judges that will evaluate the student presentations and award a winner for each of the student categories. Winners in each category will receive up to USD 3000 travel support from SPE International and will also be asked to prepare a written paper and represent the SPE Canadian Region at the SPE International Student Paper Contest, to be held at the Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition on October 27-29 in in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Monday June 16, 2014 12:00 AM: abstract submission deadline

Monday June 30, 2014: Notification of successful applicants

Wednesday August 27, 2014: Student Paper Contest at Memorial University of Newfoundland
