VOCM Cares Coats for Kids

vocm coats for kids

Social Work students are actively involved in VOCM Cares Coats for Kids campaign by collecting useable coats and winter wear on campus at events such as Kindness Friday during 'I[heart]MUNdays’.

This year, donated items were accepted until the 20th of November and were then made available at a retail-type store set up at the Legion Branch #1 where families could come and take winter clothing for their children at no cost.

Social Work student volunteers are on hand during Memorial’s Kindness Friday event to help with the collection and sorting of donated items.

There is significant local support for this campaign. Other partners include the Canadian Red Cross, Vibrant Communities, Newfoundland Power, Empire Theatres, Metrobus and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1 in St. John’s.
