Dear MSW Student,
Congratulations on your acceptance into the MSW Program at Memorial University of Newfoundland! You have qualified for a seat in the program amidst substantial competition. It is the hope of the faculty and staff at the School of Social Work that you will find the challenges of the program rewarding and relevant to your needs for a graduate degree.
This MSW Student Handbook provides one convenient package of information you are likely to find useful at various stages of the program. This information is also available online at the School of Social Work website (www.mun.ca/socwrk). Consult online resources regularly for the most up to date information.
Students may complete Memorial’s MSW Program on a full-time or part-time basis and choose either the thesis or course route program. All components of the MSW Program, with the exception of three on-campus institutes, are offered by distance format and not in a regular classroom.
We have attempted to make the handbook as comprehensive and useful as possible. Suggestions for improvement are welcomed. Also, please phone, email, fax, or visit us regarding questions and concerns you may have as you begin and progress through the MSW Program. Information for key contact persons is provided in this manual.
Best wishes as you pursue graduate studies in social work at Memorial University of Newfoundland!
